raptoravatar: I wish the boss was still this crazy. To be fair to Springsteen, it was Manfred Mann who screwed up the lyrics to the chorus of this song, not Springsteen himself. On his original version, he’s quite clearly singing “Cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night.” Manfred Mann sang it significantly faster and mushier, and slightly changed the words, ending up with: “Revved up like a douche, another runner in the night.” And I mean, maybe the guy sang “douche” and not “deuce” because he was slurring the word by accident, but the fact is, he’s saying “douche,” not “deuce.” Listen if you don’t believe me.
